Chest infections - adult - Management
Second-line antibiotic: co-amoxiclav or doxycyline
Age from 12 years onwards
Co-amoxiclav tablets: 500/125mg three times a day
Co-amoxiclav 500mg/125mg tablets
Take one tablet three times a day for 5 days.
Supply 15 tablets.
Doxycycline capsules (if not taken before): 100mg once a day
Doxycycline 100mg capsules
Take TWO capsules now and then take ONE capsule once a day for the next 4 days.
Supply 6 capsules.
